My Project

I've been doing a lot of research into integrating animation and live action as I want to use it for the film I will produce as part of my research. I go into further detail in my programme of study, abstract (see links above) and research skills & methods poster about how blending various elements of animation, live action and visual effects together can create a very unique artistic piece that can convey the sort of things other mediums cannot do on their own.

The short film I aim to produce would be about visualising ideas. The body of the film would be live action, with a very real and down-to-Earth feel to it, and into this the main character's thoughts and ideas would be represented through animation existing in surreal way in the environment he inhabits. The focus of it will be the main character's previous projects he has worked on - a comic strip and an animated film. He can't help but feel he's neglecting these on-going projects as he tries to work on something new. The characters from his previous project would then be in his space, perhaps even trying to stop him from doing this new project of his. It would be up the viewer how to interpret this, be it in a literal, cartoony way or as a more serious and allegorical representation of the workings of his mind.

More to follow.
